Bryce Canyon National Park Private Horse Reservations

Horseback riding is a great way to slow down and experience Bryce Canyon National Park. Horses have been used to explore Bryce Canyon National Park since before it was set aside for federal protection. To support this activity, the National Park Service completed 4.5 miles of foot and horse trails in 1931 that are still in use today for both guided and private horserides from approximately May through October each year, weather-permitting. To avoid conflict with other horse riders and for the safety of other visitors and stock, all private horseback riding must be scheduled for a specific date and time prior to entering the park. Private horse rides can be booked every half hour from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. from approximately May through October. Each time slot can accommodate a maximum of ten riders and their mounts. This may include multiple parties. Reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance to ensure weed-free feed is used prior to riding in the park. All park visitors are required to pay a park entrance fee or present a valid pass upon entering the park. There is no additional fee to ride your own horse at Bryce Canyon. Note: this reservation system is NOT for guided concessioner rides. This reservation system is only for visitors who want to bring their own horse to ride in Bryce Canyon. The park also has guided rides. Canyon Trail Rides, the park's concessioner, offers 2-hour and 3-hour guided horse and mule rides into the Bryce Amphitheater along a dedicated horse trail and the Peekaboo Loop Trail. Guided trail rides typically begin in April and run through October 31st, depending on weather. From the North: Take I-15 south to UT-20 (exit 95). Travel east on UT-20 to US-89. Follow US-89 south to UT-12. Travel east on UT-12 to UT-63. Take UT-63 south to Bryce Canyon NP. From the South through Zion National Park: Take I-15 north to UT-9 (exit 16). Follow UT-9 east through Zion National Park to US-89. Travel north on US-89 to UT-12. Go east on UT-12 to UT-63. Take UT-63 south to Bryce Canyon NP. From the East Travel west on UT-12 to UT-63. Take UT-63 south to Bryce Canyon NP. All Private Horseback Riders must check in at the Entrance Station upon arrival to the park. Riders will be given information about parking and directions to the trailhead.
