Walk-in permits for any entry point that still has quota left on the day, May 1 to September 30.
The Superior National Forest's own BWCAW permit page says walk-up permits may be obtained for any entry point with available quota, and asks groups that cancel to do so as soon as possible so the permits can be released. Quota permits are issued only at Forest Service permit stations, cooperating businesses and Recreation.gov, and must be picked up on the entry date or one day before. The page publishes no count of remaining quota per entry point.
