The early quota season, when Mount St. Helens allows up to 350 climbers a day.
The Forest Service's own Mount St. Helens page requires a climbing permit year-round above 4,800 ft. From April 1 to October 31, permits are sold first come, first served on Recreation.gov, released a month at a time on the first day of the preceding month at 7 a.m. Pacific (April permits on March 1). We alert at each release.
