The Skirvin Hilton, built in 1911 and a member of Historic Hotels of America® since 2008 was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

In 1910, oilman W.B. Skirvin set about building the finest hotel in the Southwest. The moment it opened in 1911, Oklahoma fell in love with the Skirvin. In a newborn state less than three miles from the capitol, it disarmed and charmed a steady stream of presidents and world figures, oil barons and cattle kings, glamorous ladies and glittering stars with its sumptuous sophistication. Downtown Oklahoma City reveled in it. A larger-than-life legacy highlights the rebirth of this, Oklahoma's grandest hotel. Guests are enveloped in a world of luxury and stylish design.
